Music Can & Will Pick You Up!

I’ve had a desire to inspire people with music for as long as I can remember, even though I wasn’t always aware that it was a desire of mine. Over the last decade though I have had such an overwhelming desire to actually have a positive effect on people with my music that it was inevitable that one day I would fulfill it and, here is an opportunity for me to do so. Will it work? well that’s for you to decide and to let me know if you want to.

After a slow evolution, growing in my musical abilities to the point now of being a musician, producer, audio engineer, composer and a songwriter (even a singer these days too!) I have hit on an idea that excites me.

The concept is called a Musical ‘Pick Me Up’ and it is a self-contained, bite-sized inspiration message consisting of music, written word and possibly video. The options are open actually because I want to present it in as impressive a format as possible, so as to draw attention to the fact that a MPMU (I’m hoping this will become a twitter hash tag #mpmu) is more than just a song. It is an experience and it is something that serves to remind you of your power, purpose and magnificence!

Referring back to my book and album ‘Mind over Matter – Heart over Mind‘ I created that with the same intention, but on a larger scale. The concept of that is to use music to reinforce a process of developing your mind set in order for you to create more of what you want in life. The power music has to remind you of things, take you directly into a specific mind state or state of feeling leads me to believe that it can be used to help you focus on specific things that you desire by choosing music you love and that gives you good feelings and also listening to a piece of music whilst absorbing a specific message, using that music as a trigger to remind you of the details of that message or philosophy.

This sounds a little more complicated than it really is. In short I believe that music can help you make your life better and it is very easy to apply. You simply listen to it!

Musical Pick me ups are my way of applying this power of music. I will be working on creating MPMUs as regularly as possible, the free versions being in video format, viewable online with the music available for free download too. I will develop premium versions too, which will include some kind of enhanced or rich media format. I am very excited about this, not least because of the buzz I get during the process of creating them. I hope that buzz is translated in the final product.
