Time to Tell You a Story

Boy at Heart - Being Brave

Here begins the story of how all this came about. Forgive me for the self-indulgence, although that is not the actual intention here. I want to create an environment where you feel you can get to know me a little better and have some kind of relatedness to me and what I do.

I myself tire of blog posts that aren’t forthcoming with actual, useful information, but instead go on about the author of the blog post. ‘Save that for the About page’ I think to myself and here I am writing a series of posts about me.

However with the mind that this kind of post can be tiresome for some I will inject into it along the way some useful information relating to the experiences I have had and the challenges I have faced. I could indeed put all this into an ‘about’ page, but there is a lot to write about and I know that thousands of words are a bit of a stretch for even the most enthusiastic of readers, so the story get ‘chunked down’ and posted here, so you can choose to read any, all or none of it, depending on what grabs your attention.

So to start. I am really passionate about writing and recording songs and over the years this has become entwined in an interest in personal growth, pushing the boundaries of what I can personally achieve and in doing so, developed a desire to share it with other people, so that I may inspire them to do something of the same with their own lives, so if you are reading this then that means you! I want you to feel inspired and motivated to go and create your life just as you dream it to be because it is possible. It’s all in the mind.

This story reflects just how possible it is, even if I am still working on some goals that haven’t yet been fully realized, which again is the key of life: There is always another goal to be achieved, something new to learn and a new direction for you to grow in.

So this story relates specifically to what I do as the Boy at Heart. It is not my life story. I wouldn’t put you through that ordeal! But it does go back a way because there are things that happened in my life which at the time were just ‘things’, which now I can see were instrumental in creating today!

I am also very keen to keep all my posts down to a maximum of 500 words too, because I know that most of you have little time to read it all, so this has become a pre-cursor to the first installment.

Please bear with me on this. I’m going to post the story daily and I will make sure it is an inspiring one. It may go on for some time, but it will be in bite sized chunks and include some music maybe.

Thanks for the comment. Is this Sharon?

This was a tough decision because I am pretty self-conscious about this. Not that I'm shy about the details, but I know how telling a personal story can sound a bit self indulgent.

Great to see you hear and hope you're well.

Yes, Rob, it's Sharon O'Day.

I know about giving out personal details: I've been so totally invisible
online to date that it's been a real challenge. I filmed my intro video,
telling my story and my intentions, while I was in France this past
fortnight. To be coherent, and to justify being able to talk to women about
how devastating childhood money messages can be, I had to go pretty far into
'my story'. But it sure wasn't easy.

Here's to our journey!

Great for you stepping out of your comfort zone. It feels really empowering once you do so don't you think?

Your story should make for really interesting viewing/reading too. Thanks again for commenting.
