Where to Start?
I’m going to start by saying thank you to Neil Young and Daniel Lanois for "Le Noise". With so much material waiting to be recorded I am currently stalling because I don’t know what to record first. I have about four albums of varying kinds that I want to create, which all have a different vibe to each other, so it’s a case of choosing one and getting on with it I suppose.
Until I saw Le Noise, which is about the best thing I’ve seen or heard for quite some time, I didn’t have any specific ideas for my next album other than the desire to record it. Now I have more than one idea and one of them I will be up-front about and say is directly inspired by this album by two of my favourite people in Rock ‘n’ Roll.
I’m still distracted by the other album ideas I want to work on, but at least I have found a place to start. There are other factors too, like the desire to create something visual, which means finding a visually interesting space to capture along with the music. Oh and the music? Well without saying too much now I am considering going with the momentum I have built up over the summer with improvisation.
An improvised album? Seriously? Maybe!
This has also given me ideas for another project, which I hope to get running. So in total that means I have four album projects, another ambitious musical project a couple of podcast projects and a project creating training material for recording enthusiasts. Can I have more hours in the day please?
OK enough about me, watch Le Noise!
